MLA Director's Trial Moved

Mille Lacs Academy Executive Director Paul L. Smith was "on the docket" for Monday, July 13, 2009 in Federal Court in Oklahoma City. However, his trial has been continued (rescheduled) until October 13, 2009. Smith has been indicted on several counts of embezzlement and mail fraud, crimes he allegedly committed prior to joining the "Nexus family" while he was the director of a youth detention center in Lawton, Oklahoma. Despite the serious charges, Nexus reportedly stands behind their indicted director and Smith has not stepped down from his position as the Mille Lacs Academy man in charge.

As a former employee of Marie Detty, the agency where Paul Smith was Executive Director, I can honestly say it is all true.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for your comment. Nexus is apparently standing behind their indicted director Paul Smith. To me, this says an awful lot... about Nexus...

I'm being sued for saying "Nexus - getting away with murder" (after I reported that the Onamia city council gave Nexus everything they wanted - but coincidentally, a Nexus employee killed a child while restraining him.) So I daren't go out on a limb and quote IN MY OPINION yet another idiom - BIRDS OF A FEATHER.

And Nexus blames ME for hurting their reputation.... Go figure.

I really appreciate you writing in. Feel free to share any more information anonymously. Its a fascinating topic. :)
